Sometimes, prepping for a night out can be almost as much fun as the evening itself. We quizzed beauty insider Keeks Reid about her go-to routine – from her must-have hydrating skincare to her favourite feel-good scent. Q What’s on your pre-party playlist? A When I’m with friends, it’s a mix of tunes from the 1990s and 2000s. If I’m alone, I love listening to musicals. It’s not as sad as it sounds, I promise! I just enjoy belting out upbeat songs as I prep. Q Talk us through your usual routine A For a big night out, I’ll spend about two hours

I dry-brush everywhere to help with blood flow and exfoliation, and use a body scrub on my arms and legs in the shower – I pick an oil-based one to nourish my skin. After patting myself dry, I moisturise top to toe. I’m seeing a lot of ingredients typically found in skincare now being used in body creams. For example, Hada Labo Tokyo’s Body Milk contains three types of hyaluronic acid, which leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. Q How do you look after your complexion? A My skincare takes the longest. I’ll start by using a cream cleanser and then mist, before applying a hyaluronic acid lotion, which is crucial for attracting and retaining moisture. I prefer a product with multiple types of hyaluronic acid, such as Hada Labo Tokyo’s Premium Lotion, as it works on different layers of the skin for extra hydration. Then I’ll mist again, apply a vitamin C serum and top it off with a moisturiser that contains ceramides to further help retain moisture. Q What about your hair and make-up? A If there’s going to be lots of dancing, I’ll do a sleek bun with loads of gel, but if it’s more dinner and drinks, I’ll whack on my half-wig and style it in loose waves. My make-up is really quick: I prep with primer to give my base something to cling on to, and I like a matte foundation because my skin can get shiny very quickly. I’m currently loving an all-over bronze look, including on my eyelids, where I use liquid shadow and then a powder shimmer on top for a longer-lasting finish. Q What scent do you like to wear? A I’m obsessed with Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Apparently, it’s Harry Styles’ favourite as well, so I was sold.
