A notable night out in Nailsworth

Cotswold Life - - INSIDER’S GUIDE -

Nailsworth Noel – the town’s highly popular start to Christmas shopping – will take place on the evening of Friday, November 30.

This year’s Noel will be packed full of attractions, including Santa’s grotto; a family fun fair; a farmers’ market with food, drink and crafts; a classic car show; Mr Brown’s steam engine; and a river of light illuminating the town’s stream.

The fun begins when Mr and Mrs Claus lead a festive parade around the town – joined by children from Nailsworth Primary School – starting from Station Road at 5pm.

Sarah Martin, vice chair of Nailsworth Chamber of Trade and Commerce, is organising the festivities. “This year is particularly special,” she said. “Traders have been through a tough time – including having to fight proposals to introduce parking charges. But what we’ve seen is just how strong the Nailsworth community really is. People have rallied round and lent their support in a way that has hugely boosted morale. Clearly, our town centre is tremendously valued.

“It’s always a great evening, which showcases the quality, individuality and range of Nailsworth’s fantastic shopping.”
