COTSWOLD FASHION MOTIVATING FASHION CATWALK EVOLUTION Catwalk runways have been empty during the Covid-19 pandemic and fashion designers either had to choose to cancel their shows altogether or move them online. The British Fashion Council even replaced the London Fashion Week men’s showcase in June with a digital event, and Helsinki Fashion Week, in July, will also be digital. With this shift in the fashion world, it’s no surprise that designers are changing how they do things. The fashion powerhouse, Yves Saint Laurent, revealed that they will reshape its schedule, not adhering to any set fashion weeks and rather operate at their own schedule and decide how and when to launch their upcoming collections. The fashion industry is transforming before our eyes, so watch this space. We all know that fashion has had a hugely negative impact on the environment. However, many designers are changing how they create their designs in answer to the eco-friendly consumer. Lisou is a fashion brand that specialises in beautiful silk pieces with a twist. Their colourful silk headbands are not only a great accessory to add a pop of colour to your outfit, but they are also made out of recycled silk fabric. They also donate the proceeds from one piece per collection directly to helping young Africans with medical and educational needs. lisou.co.uk SUSTAINABLE ACCESSORISING 170 Cotswold Life: August 2020
