An in­no­va­tive project from long-stand­ing Glouces­ter­shire fam­ily business KW Bell Group to sup­port the de­vel­op­ment of fu­ture-skilled con­struc­tion work­ers has re­ceived al­most £2 mil­lion of gov­ern­ment fund­ing.

The new Con­struc­tion Education Cen­tre will be built in Cin­der­ford, For­est of Dean, es­tab­lish­ing a cen­tre of ex­cel­lence to in­spire, train and con­nect peo­ple en­ter­ing and ad­vanc­ing within the con­struc­tion in­dus­try. Frank Smith set up the firm in 2016 as a spe­cial­ist law firm ad­vis­ing on all as­pects of prop­erty law. The firm, which has gone from strength to strength, al­ready has a sub­stan­tial fol­low­ing. As part of his ex­pan­sion plans, Frank now wel­comes Natalie to the firm to build a pri­vate client de­part­ment, in­creas­ing the in­ven­tory of ser­vices it can pro­vide to its clients.

Natalie has been a qual­i­fied so­lic­i­tor for 10 years and is a fully qual­i­fied mem­ber of the So­ci­ety of Trusts and Es­tate Prac­ti­tion­ers (STEP), the in­dus­try body for those with knowl­edge and prac­ti­cal ex­pe­ri­ence of the lat­est tech­no­log­i­cal ad­vances in sus­tain­abil­ity and ‘dig­i­tal con­struc­tion’.

De­signed to cater for mul­ti­ple age ranges, the 980m2 cen­tre will in­clude a schools’ pro­gramme to of­fer an in­tro­duc­tion to the mod­ern ca­reer op­por­tu­ni­ties avail­able through­out the con­struc­tion in­dus­try, in­clud­ing education path­ways, from 16 years up.

The blend of real and vir­tual learning en­vi­ron­ments will all sup­port learn­ers and ap­pren­tices from NVQ Level 1 through to un­der­grad­u­ate de­gree. The cen­tre will also be used by trades­peo­ple up­dat­ing their in­dus­try-ac­cred­ited qual­i­fi­ca­tions, and em­ploy­ers up­skilling their work­forces. spe­cial­is­ing in pri­vate client work. Natalie has pre­vi­ously worked for WSP solic­i­tors in Durs­ley and Stroud, Har­ri­son Clark Ricker­bys in Chel­tenham and Here­ford, and most re­cently Lod­ders in Chel­tenham and Strat­ford. Hav­ing grown up on the fam­ily farm, and now own­ing a small hold­ing her­self, Natalie is able to un­der­stand from both a per­sonal and le­gal per­spec­tive the is­sues that face ru­ral clients. With Frank Smith & Co Solic­i­tors al­ready hav­ing a strong rep­u­ta­tion within the agri­cul­tural sec­tor, it seemed a per­fect fit.
