Rustic warmth

Natural textures are at the heart of any successful country dining scheme. ‘I worked with a combination of textures, including panelled walls, a rustic timber ceiling, an oak dining table, painted wicker chairs and linen cushions to create this cosy, relaxed country-style dining room,’ says Emma Sims-hilditch of interior design studio Sims Hilditch. ‘Natural materials were chosen to reflect the home’s idyllic countryside setting. At Christmas, simple decorations such as fir sprigs and pine cones can be added to welcome the outdoors in.’
