An even bigger splash

FAMOUS for depicting Californian swimming pools and Yorkshire’s multi-coloured rolling hills, David Hockney (right) has accepted an invitation from Westminster Abbey to design a stained-glass window to celebrate The Queen’s reign, now the longest in British history.

‘I have planned a landscape full of blossom that’s a celebration every year,’ says the artist, whose window will light up the north transept from June 2018, set to coincide with the planned opening of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries in the abbey.
