BRITISH watchmaker Bremont has just launched the Bremont Supersonic, its eighth historical limited-edition timepiece, in partnership with British Airways to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Concorde. The watches (limited to 300 steel, 100 white gold and 100 rose gold) feature aluminium taken from the G-BOAB Concorde, known as Alpha Bravo, cleverly machined into a decorated ring within the case-back design. ‘Concorde was more than just metal,’ enthuses Giles English of Bremont. ‘She inspired pride and emotion—that’s truly a rare thing’. Giles’s brother Nick adds: ‘She was a landmark in aircraft design and her incredible achievements make her a classic example of British engineering at its finest.’ Concorde flew until October 24, 2003, but many wish she could have flown longer.
