Prevention is better than cure
RESTORATION, as your November 21 issue points out, is a wonderful thing. In recent years, many hundreds of churches have been brought back to life thanks to the work of skilled craftsmen. However, effective maintenance of churches and other historic buildings can prevent the need for restoration. Regular inspections, gutter clearances and simple repairs prolong the life of a church and can also save money, as they prevent what can often be expensive restoration work.
