The jewels of the forthcoming London Design Festival
It’s a wrap
Julian Chichester has created a small collection of statement furniture custom-wrapped in wallpaper as part of a collaboration with Osborne & Little. The range includes The Deneuve Cabinet in Derwent wallpaper, finished with a highgloss lacquer, £6,428 (020–7622 2928; www.julianchichester.com)
New show
Lincrusta has been producing embossed wallcovering since 1877. Made from gelled linseed oil and wood-flour paste spread on to a paper base, it takes its name from Lin for Linum (flax, from which linseed oil is made) and Crusta (relief). Now enjoying a revival, the company uses many of the original rollers to emboss its designs, which are all produced in Lancashire; shown here is Georgian Panel, £265 per 10m roll. Its first UK showroom will open at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, during Focus/19 (01524 239679; www.lincrusta.com)
Balanced scale
Persian Maze is a new design inspired by a 19th-century Persian banner, which is believed to depict the relationship between water and shade in a paradisiacal garden. Available as a weave, print and wallpaper, each on a different scale; the smallest scale is employed on the weave shown here. £220 per metre, from Soane Britain (020–7730 6400; www.soane.com)
Natural beauty
Colefax & Fowler has a new collection of classically decorative fabrics and trimmings, including Passerine, a shimmering silk featuring dragonflies amid trailing blooms and branches. Shown here in Blue, £155 per metre (020–8877 6400; www.colefax.com)
Out of Africa
The Serengeti lamp is inspired by an African antique terracotta pot. Notable for its overscale size and textured detailing, it has an intricately cast earthenware body, finished with a rustic glaze, and costs £594. Shown here with a 20in Warwick Lily linen lampshade, £140, both from Vaughan (020–7610 6544; www.vaughan designs.com)
