The Wild Store

3–4 ECCLESTON YARDS, SW1

-

IMPRISONED in our own home, we’ve never sought to re-create the hotel, restaurant or members’ club experience more so than this past year. Thankfully, it’s now the done thing for any of these successful places to set up a shop—physical or online —stocked full of well-curated trinkets. And no one has done it better than Lucy Carrellison and Jemima Jones, the talent behind Wild by Tart—one of London’s most photogenic restaurants that, ironically, you’ll never have time to photograph, thanks to the endless plates of mouth-watering food.

The Wild Store, which re-opens on April 12 and backs directly onto the restaurant, stocks pieces that the two women have

come across on their travels—including tableware, clothing, jewellery and beauty products—and homeware collections that they’ve personally designed. Several pieces are used in the restaurant.

They’re particularly excited about a new ceramic range, from Andalucia, Spain: ‘We love the big statement bowls with their traditional, loose paintings of birds and flowers, which feel reminiscent of beautiful spring.’

Their top tips for entertaining in Wild style at home? ‘Introduce different heights to your table, from glasses and candlesticks to raised platters of food. We love a natural look. Throw in colours, greenery and seasonal flowers where possible.’ RP

Best for animals

Spread across 32 acres on the Isle of Dogs, Mudchute City Farm is one of Europe’s largest inner-city farms. Open from April 12 (www.mudchute.org)

Best for cherry blossom

You’ll find the biggest displays of the white and pink-hued sakura blossom in London’s Royal Parks—greenwich, Regent’s and St James’s—and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, TW9. Or try St Paul’s Cathedral, EC4, Redcliffe Road, SW10, and Blithfield Street, W8

Best for seasonal fruit and veg

New potatoes and rhubarb are best when purchased from a high-quality greengrocer. Try Andreas on Cale Street, SW3 (www.andreasveg.co.uk), and Natoora (www.natoora.co.uk)
