New year, new me

THE wellness trend shows no signs of abating, with a host of UK hotels throwing open the doors to new spas in 2022. In Hampshire, Heckfield Place is gearing up to open its Bothy spa—four years in the making. Hidden inside the hotel’s kitchen garden, there’s a swimming pool, movement studios and treatments using the hotel’s own Wildsmith Skin products (www.heckfieldplace.com). The Swan—a 17thcentury former coaching inn on the River Leven, in the Lake District—is on track to open its Holte Spa next month. Everything has been designed around its waterside site, including an outdoor Finnish sauna (www.swanhotel. com). And Thyme, in the Cotswolds, will open the Botanical Bothy in March—a spa within a spa (the hotel’s Meadow Spa has a cult following), designed for one or two people.
