Comfort and solitude
ALARM bells clanged in my head when I read the letter of the week ‘Slip into something more comfortable’ (January 26). I fear that A. W. of Hampshire may interpret the accolade as COUNTRY LIFE condoning dressing for a formal occasion in attire suitable for a day at the beach. When he next ventures out claiming a medical exemption that makes it impossible to wear a suit, he may be comfortable and cheerful, but in all probability he will be alone, his wife having gone in advance… incognito.
