In the making: Private White V. C.

‘We take quality, craftsmanship and provenance very seriously, and handcraft everything in house’

-

PROUD craftsmen of Great British luxury clothing, Private White V. C. make investment pieces built to last, constructed using proper techniques and traditions. The company’s garments have been made for kings and queens, rock stars, sporting greats and Hollywood icons. In 1916, it supplied the Allied Forces with trench coats and, in the 1940s, the RAF with waterproof parkas. The 125-year-old Manchester factory is where Private Jack White originally worked, having returned from the First World War with a Victoria Cross, and only the finest regionally sourced yarns and fabrics are used. An impressive attention to detail remains key to success and the brand has a lifetime repair service. ‘We take quality, craftmanshipand provenance very seriously, and handcraft everything in house,’ reveals James Eden, the company’s CEO. ‘We are almost unrivalled when it comes to our sourcing and sustainability,’ he continues, ‘with 90% of our raw materials sourced in the UK and 100% of our garments made in the UK. We only work with suppliers who share our passion, appreciation and obsession with finessing and producing garments of the highest calibre.’ With nothing outsourced, everything is done on site and each craftsperson has dedicated their life to honing skills, taking pride in making the best possible clothing, to be worn for a lifetime and beyond.
