A walk to remember

-

The Trans Bhutan Trail is opening to walkers and mountain bikers for the first time in some 60 years this month, following years of extensive restoration. The 250-mile route was once used by pilgrims to traverse the country and more than 400 sites of historic and cultural significance have been identified along the way to date. A limited number of permits will be allocated to international travellers and all walks must be led by a local guide. Visit www.transbhutantrail.bt for more information.

Fully vaccinated travellers visiting France from the UK no longer need a negative Covid test—so it’s the perfect time to book a trip to Paris, where new hotels have defied expectations to open throughout ongoing lockdowns. These include Hôtel Madame Rêve (below; 1st arrondissement); LVMH’S Cheval Blanc Paris (1st arrondissement); and the Luke Edward Hall-designed Les Deux Gares (10th arrondissement).
