Horticultural aide-mémoire Sow hardy annuals

-

There’s a huge range of pretty hardy annuals suitable for use either in a bed on their own or as handy gap fillers in a border. Cultivate the soil to a sowing tilth, then draw parallel drills across the surface. Sow the seeds individually, time-consuming, but worth it, and close the drills with the edge of a hoe. For an annual ‘meadow’, mix the seeds together with 10x their volume of silver sand and broadcast across the seedbed. A light raking will work them in. Nature will do the rest. SCD
