Flying solo
THE pandemic continues to affect the way people travel, but business is booming for private jets, particularly in America: last year saw the number of private-jet flights across the US reach levels unseen since 2007. ‘The industry is 5% to 10% larger than it was pre-pandemic,’ says Travis Kuhn, vice-president of market intelligence at Argus International.
Private air-charter expert Victor, which saw 139% yearon-year growth in new bookers for its on-demand service, adds that its customers want to avoid crowds, cut travel times and increase flexibility. CO-CEO Toby Edwards says: ‘Disrupted travel experiences put the benefits of flying privately into focus.’
