Born in Cheshire in 1955, the now cricket commentator is one of the all-time greats of the sport. A member of the House of Lords, he lives in North Yorkshire with his wife, Kathy, and their three Jack Russells, Pinot, Henley and Jacki-boy, and a labrador, Missy. He has teamed up with British Game Assurance to host a clay-shooting challenge on July 1 at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School, to raise funds to help safeguard the future of shooting (020–3727 5204; events@britishgameassurance.co.uk).
