Blow by blow
AS you say in the picture caption to ‘The way we were’ (May 4), to the mutual relief of the Blows and their servants, eating together in the kitchen did not last. During one of her periods of instability, the glamorous and charismatic Isabella Blow drove off into the night from the tranquil location you show at Hilles House, Gloucestershire, intent upon self harm. She crashed at speed into a supermarket lorry, but was uninjured. She had been saved from the wreckage by an airbag, but announced to her husband, Detmar: ‘I always hated Tesco.’
