ANNE MARIE’S TOP GROWING TIPS
Harvest winter squashes until the plant has withered or a good frost is forecast. Place in a greenhouse, cold frame or on a windowsill to cure. This way, they will develop an intense yet sweet flavour.
Use well-rotted manure or homemade compost. You may get problems from other forms of soil improver.
In autumn, make the spacings between plants a little wider to allow better airflow and avoid mildew.
