As spring springs forth and Britain bursts into bloom, there’s no better time to get outside. The first week of May marks the RHS’S National Gardening Week (30 April-6 May), which involves myriad events and activities taking place in all four of the organisation’s glorious gardens. There are plenty of ways to get involved further afield, too, with the RHS offering support and advice on how to set up your own event – whether it’s enlisting volunteers to help plant up a communal area or providing support during gardening sessions at a local school. All events run during the week –from beginners’ workshops to guided walks – aim to inspire and educate gardeners, and everyone is invited.
