Aside from bring­ing plea­sure, gar­dens, it has long been recog­nised, can help heal those suf­fer­ing from trauma or with men­tal health is­sues. So, too, can farm­ing – Michael and Clare Mor­purgo’s char­ity, Farms for City Chil­dren, has been prov­ing this for years. On page 90, we fea­ture Jamie Feilden’s Wilt­shire farm, where dis­ad­van­taged young peo­ple gain sup­port and grow in con­fi­dence while car­ing for an­i­mals and ac­quir­ing ru­ral skills.
