1 HOUR to make a difference
If time is short, focus on one satisfying task – and the rest of the garden can wait
There is still plenty of time to plant bulbs for next year, and a quick and easy way to do this is in plastic pots that can be dropped into borders and containers later on. Line up a whole series of pots and fill them with a mix of multi-purpose and loam-based compost for added nutrients, plus some grit to aid drainage. For a strong display, plant bulbs closely, until almost touching. Label them and keep in an open position in the garden until they start to emerge. Water occasionally if the weather is dry.
