HANG IT UP
Rule number one in shed storage is to leave as much floor space free as possible, which avoids the build-up of inaccessible clutter. Utilise every inch of available wall by hanging up any regularly used garden tools, such as forks, spades, rakes and hoes, on hooks or racks, where you can see and reach them with ease. Lengths of broom-handle-sized dowel, mounted at an angle onto a stout wooden backing board (above), will save space by enabling you to hang two or three tools on each one. Drill a hole in the wooden handles of hand tools, then thread through a piece of twine or leather thong as a hanging loop (below).
