TIPS FOR USING TEXTURE

-

Think about which way you are going to lay textured wool or natural fibre wall-to-wall floorcoverings before you order. The direction of the weft can visually increase the length of a room, or the width if a stripe or herringbone runs across the space. •

In bedrooms with wooden flooring, a natural fleece rug is an easy way to bring another texture into a scheme and feels luxurious underfoot first thing in the morning. •

If you’re finding it hard to visualise how a carpet or rug will look in your home, ask for larger samples, or use several standard-sized ones laid next to each other. •

Porcelain or vinyl tiles that mimic the appearance of old boards are often hard to distinguish from the real thing.
