Quaint and curious

-

Every Good Friday morning, revellers gather at the top of Holcombe Hill in Lancashire to participate in the annual ‘Egg Rolling’ event. This centuries-old tradition involves pushing hardboiled eggs – often colourfully dyed – down the steep, grassy knoll. The owner of the most intact one is crowned the winner – then it’s off to the Shoulder of Mutton pub for a celebratory drink.
