Located on the north-west coast of Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands, Clashnessie is a tiny crofting community of just 19 houses. A stone’s throw from the bay – where the ocean shifts from tranquil turquoise to swirling grey depending on the weather – Clashnessie Falls tumbles 15 metres from the lochans above. At this time of year, when the water’s in full flow, watch cascading rivulets merge, crashing onto rock below in a deafening rumble.
