...the UK has lost as much as 92 per cent of its seagrass over the past century? These rooted plants live in shallow water and provide a home for thousands of species from sea snails to stingrays. Seagrass also acts as a carbon sink, absorbing carbon from the water. Sky Ocean Rescue, the WWF and Swansea University have now launched a major restoration project, planting two hectares of seagrass along the Welsh coast.
