A good read

It’s instructive to read about another gardener’s exploits, especially if the author is as experienced as Tamsin Westhorpe. She toils at her family garden, Stockton Bury (open April to September; stocktonbury.co.uk) in Herefordshire, and her book Diary of a Modern Country Gardener (Orphans Publishing; £20) charts her challenges and successes there over a year, with gentle wit and wisdom and timely tips.
