Chelsea Show highlights

Gardens that encourage environmental awareness and community spirit will feature at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show (19-23 May).

In RHS GARDEN FOR FRIENDSHIP (above), designer Jo Thompson and TV and radio presenter Zoe Ball will showcase ideas for greening up front gardens to bring neighbours together and combat loneliness. With a recent survey of 2,000 people showing that more than half of adults enjoy being surrounded by greenery, and a further 53 per cent saying it boosts their mood, this garden will encourage people to add colour to their streets. Other features of Chelsea include THE FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE RECOVERY GARDEN, highlighting the importance of nature on the road to recovery, and the YEO VALLEY ORGANIC GARDEN with inspiration for creating a diverse range of wildlife habitats.
