ST VALERY Alnmouth’s only boutique B&B is very welcoming, with a roaring fireplace for dozing dogs in the winter and outdoor decking where you can both relax in the summer – after a stroll on the nearby dog-friendly beach, of course. There are four pet-friendly rooms on the ground floor, including the St Benedict suite, with a king-size bed and marble fireplace. You just have to keep to the canine rules, set by house dog Roxy: dogs must be kept on leads inside and avoid the dining room at breakfast.
