DERBYSHIRE

-

THE DEVONSHIRE ARMS The ‘Dev’ sits in the pretty hamlet of Beeley, a couple of miles from Chatsworth House. Sit with your dog in the stone-flagged bar, drinking a pint or eating in front of the fire, or settle in the brasserie, which serves the same menu, including wild rabbit pie, and fish and chips. It’s a very cosy place indeed. This welcome extends to the comfortable bedrooms, four of which are upstairs, while the others are scattered in buildings around the village (one of these, Brookside House, is dog friendly). There are plenty of dog-friendly walks nearby, including the Chatsworth Estate itself. Double rooms from £100 per night, dogs £10 per night (devonshirebeeley.co.uk).
