Northern Italy’s lakes have inspired artists for centuries, with attractive Renaissance villas and cultivated gardens. And on this eight-day tour, you will explore Lake Maggiore, which straddles Italy and Switzerland, from your base in Stresa, along with Lakes Como and Orta.
Adam Frost will join you on your trip to Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori, founded in the tenth century, where you’ll explore a formal garden, and will give a talk about his life and time presenting Gardeners’ World. You will also travel to see the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps via the Centovalli Railway.
