Stretching from Western Canada to New Mexico, the Rockies formed a natural barrier to European settlers making their journey from east to west. It wasn’t until the mid-1800s that thousands braved the perilous crossing to reach Utah, Nevada and the riches of California.
Your journey will be somewhat more luxurious as you take one of the world’s most iconic trains across the 3,000-milelong mountain range. Departing from Denver, on a brand-new route, you will travel in style on the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer bound for Utah. Enjoy panoramic views of the Rockies onboard the train’s Silverleaf Service as you take in Ruby Canyon, Mount Logan and cross the Continental Divide.
Next, you will enjoy a tour of the highlights of the American Southwest best seen by train, including the Grand Canyon, before reaching your final destination, the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.
During the tour, you’ll visit some of America’s incredible national parks – four of Utah’s ‘Mighty Five’ national parks: Canyonlands; Bryce Canyon; Zion; and Arches, not to mention the spectacular Grand Canyon in the state of Arizona.
