Testament of youth
Jack was enjoying a pint in the Slipway bar at the RNLI headquarters in Poole when he met Jon Atkins. Crew from across the country often gather in the Dorset town for training. Jon, who is based in Barry, wasted no time in introducing himself, before asking when Jack would come to his station. Jack scheduled the visit for the following month and made this portrait of Jon, who, in his early thirties at the time, was one of the network’s youngest coxswains.
