Turn over a new leaf

-

Perhaps I’m a glutton for punishment but I rather enjoy raking up leaves. It’s satisfying to gather them into neat piles before they turn into a mushy mess, and then bag them up to make free leaf mould for later use. Scoop them into a plastic bin bag, tie the top, then puncture the sides with a fork and tuck them away for a year or two. I’m not a fan of noisy leaf blowers, so if I had more ground to cover, I’d be considering Gardena’s nifty push-along leaf and grass collector, which has height adjustment and a detachable basket. It costs £132.99 (gardena.com).
