Colour WITH DECORATING
My home is a mix of warm greys, off-whites, creams, stone and soft blues. It’s hardly very adventurous for a magazine homes editor, I confess, but every room does have a definite colour, which has shaped its decoration. And each space works with all the others, so that the shades still look good when viewed from one room to the other and offer continuity throughout the house.
But many of the decorating stories I have put together over the years for Country Living have been informed by strong shades and, recently, people are embracing more vivid shades than ever before.
This month, we launch a brand-new palette of 30 paint shades that we have developed with Crown to help you create the ‘CL look’ – they are soon to be available at Homebase*. All the colours are inspired by ones that we use regularly and are found in nature. There are some lovely shades – soft pinks, warm greys and deeper blues – that I’m now planning to try out at home…
