Worzel Gummidge
HERTFORDSHIRE
Forty years after jon pertwee’s worzel gummidge became a cult classic, the scarecrow of scatterbrook farm has shuffled back onto our screens for more mirth and magic. Starring mackenzie crook in the titular role, this re-imagining celebrates a magical countryside, with characters befriending birds and dancing in the light of the harvest moon. In a world that hangs in the balance, there are also cautionary tales of climate change and plastic pollution. Filmed in the ashridge estate in hertfordshire, the camera sweeps across ivinghoe beacon, over the chilterns’ flaxen fields and onwards to the dunstable downs. nationaltrust.org.uk
