This month, we salute a cool new solution to the UK’S food waste problem. Every year, we bin 9.5 million tonnes of food*, while 8.4 million people struggle to afford to eat. That’s why, in 2022, social enterprise Hubbub is set to open 250 community fridges across the country. The idea is that anyone – shoppers and shopkeepers – can drop off surplus food for others to use.
