COLOUR & surfaces

WORKTOPS in wood are great with yellows and blues; marble or stone look especially good with black, deep green or blue; cast or composite tops work with most shades and more unusual metals such as zinc (lovely with blues).

HAND-PAINTED FINISHES are ideal for cabinetry and can be changed and repainted at relatively little expense.

TILE-TOPPED WORKSURFACES have a cool and distinctly Mediterranean or rustic flavour. Simple plain tiles work best with ‘statement’ colour kitchens.

INTRODUCE INTEREST to walls with specialist paints with subtle texture such as lime washes. Try Clayworks, Bauwerk, Autentico or Kalklitir.
