FOR ORGANIC MAINTENANCE

-

SQUARE UP TO WEEDS

Weeding is time-consuming but it’s also absorbing and it gets you up close and personal with your plants.

MAKE COMFREY ‘TEA’

We stack comfrey leaves in a container and weigh them down to get a concentrate that we can then dilute for use as a natural fertiliser.

PACK PLANTS TIGHTLY

Cover the soil, cover the soil, cover the soil: more plants mean fewer weeds.

FEED ON FRIDAY

We thoroughly feed our pots once a week, on a Friday. In beds, plants should be sending their roots down through good soil to find their own nutrients.

USE BIOCHAR

We have started creating our own biochar as a soil additive. It acts like an ‘environmentally friendly swell gel’ to hold water and nutrients at plants’ roots.
