Brought TO BOOK

-

If you’re a beachcomber, you may have all you need to make this jaunty boat bookend. Secure a 15cm piece of wood to a small, heavy plank. Drill a hole a quarter of the way along the top and glue in a wooden chopstick. Add a triangle of linen stamped with a number – half a napkin works well – and add another, thinner wooden skewer cut to length along the base of the sail. Add a ribbon pennant, then decorate with shells.

Driftwood, from a selection, Etsy. Shells, from a selection, Dorset Gifts. Trebent chopsticks, £2/four pairs, Ikea. For similar napkin, try Dunelm. Fabric paint, from a selection, Cass Art. Timber base, cut to order, B&Q
