Enjoy a mini farm
Moreton Show, north Cotswolds
Sat, Sept 1
Moreton Show has long enjoyed the reputation of being one of the country’s biggest one- day shows, but visitors to this corner of the north Cotswolds on September 1 can look forward to seeing something very small.
Part of the Countryside and Heritage area on the 150-acre showground will be taken up by a mini farm, with sheep, cows, pigs and alpacas. It’s all the idea of Simon and Sarah Righton, who run Old Farm on the Batsford Estate, a mile north of Moreton in Marsh, where much of their farm’s permanent pasture is taken over by Moreton Show.
Sarah said: ‘Given that Moreton Show is on our land, we wanted to bring our farm to the people who come to the show. We’ll also be there to answer questions.’
But they will not be the only animals on show at Moreton. This is a show which boasts more than 2,000 animals, including some of the country’s top horses aiming to qualify for the end- of-season Horse of the Year Show. MORE: Tickets go on sale on July 1 at www.moretonshow.co.uk.
