Q

For the past couple of winters I have had a handful of birds develop Favus on the face/ neck. I have found imaverol the most effective treatment for clearing it up and I have not had the issue through the summer months, I suspect in part due to UV exposure. My question is should I be treating the housing to prevent reoccurence and if so what with?

VR SAYS: If you look on my website under Biosecurity, you will find disinfectant information which will tell you the concentration of Virkon to use to control fungus. You can then use this on the wooden walls of your hen hut both inside and out to remove the source of the Favus fungal infection.
