The British Lavender: showcasing a colour variant
The British Lavender breed is being developed to showcase a rare colour variant found in Jacobs. The new breed is a work-in-progress, the sheep will be polled, medium sized, have a solid coloured fleece and white markings on head, tail and legs.
The breed development programme involves out- crossing and breeding back to allow numbers to increase safely. There is an optional blueprint available designed to give the best results, but only one rule — so long as one parent is Lavender the colour will never be lost.
