Feel the Burns
The hoary cliffs are crown’d wi’ flowers, White o’er the linns the burnie pours, And rising, weets wi’ misty showers The birks of Aberfeldy.’’ Robert Burns
“As a Scot and admirer of Robert Burns’ work,’ says reader Jackie Sinclair, “my husband was inspired by his poem The Birks of
Aberfeldy (birk = birch tree) to walk there. There’s a circular route from the town square in
Aberfeldy* – not long, maybe an hour or two – but with really beautiful views. It’s steep in parts, with waterfalls, and we saw the stone seat where Burns supposedly wrote the poem. Writing this has made me want to return and do it again.”
