HUAWEI Band 2 Pro

-

Price: £79 What does it do?

Quite a lot for a reasonable price (on Amazon for £49), especially when compared to its rivals. It doesn’t perform as well however. Somehow Huawei have managed to squeeze a GPS into this dainty fitness tracker, as well as a heart rate monitor and a 3-axis accelerometer for counting steps and calculating the calories you burn. The GPS can track your walks accurately, giving a truer mileage and map plot on the Bluetooth connected smartphone app. But using it rapidly drains the 100 mAh battery – so much so it went from 80% to dead just 3 hours into a walk. It’s useless for navigation too, as the device has no location function. But it can send alerts from your phone.

Ease of use

On the device itself, there’s just one small, touch sensitive button for cycling through and selecting functions on a basic PMOLED screen. It couldn’t be simpler. But to get the most out of the Band 2 Pro, the accompanying app is essential.

What’s it like to wear?

The Band 2 Pro is imperceptibly light and equally subtle in style, with a steeledged display. With its rubber band fixed comfortably, we barely noticed it was there.
