SAMSUNG Gear Fit2 Pro
Price: £179 What does it do?
At the pricier end of the fitness band market, the Gear Fit2 Pro shares a lot in common with a fully-fledged smartwatch. It tracks your heart rate, counts steps and floors climbed, estimating (albeit optimistically) how many calories you’ve burned. It will also record activities, with a mode just for walking. But rather than just tapping go, you first have to set a time, calorie or distance target. It gives a fairly accurate mileage, thanks to a built-in GPS. And though it couldn’t help us navigate during our tests, it didn’t devastate the battery life, leaving plenty of juice for utilising Bluetooth linked apps. The basic smartphone app could be better developed for reviewing activity however.
Ease of use
Like a Galaxy smartphone, the Gear Fit2 Pro has a user-friendly interface on its 1.5” colour touchscreen display, letting you swipe through and select its various widgets. Having two tactile buttons as well makes it easier to start and stop recording activities on the move.
What’s it like to wear?
It’s sleek and light, ergonomically curved to rest comfortably on top of your wrist. The standard strap is quite big though, even for an average wrist.
