Parking at the Forestry Commission’s Rendlesham Forest Centre (P&D, £4 all day) is a 15-minute drive from Woodbridge/A12, via the A1152 and B1084 east towards Orford (postcode IP12 3NF).

At weekends, Bear Grills mobile café serves hot and cold food and drinks at the Rendlesham Forest Centre. Check the Facebook page or email beargrillsfood@gmail.com for opening hours. Two miles away, you’ll find The Oyster Inn at Butley. This 400-year-old village pub boasts its own microbrewery, Suffolk’s smallest cinema and hosts regular folk nights.
