MANY HAPPY RETURNS!

We aren’t the only ones celebrating the 70th birthday of Britain’s first national parks this month.

Royal Mail has unveiled a set of commemorative first class stamps featuring ten of the parks, including the New Forest, Snowdonia, the North York Moors and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs; £8.50 for the set or £9.40 with presentation pack. Meanwhile Ordnance Survey is updating several of its national park paper maps to coincide with the anniversary, and has launched a competition to find a new photo for the cover of its Dartmoor 1:25,000 map (Explorer OL28). In accordance with Covid guidelines, they’re urging entrants to submit pre-existing photos rather than journeying to the park to take new ones.
