Who needs sleep anyway?

The world’s greatest pastime eliminates nearly all links between poor sleep and early death.

-

Thanks to a study of 400,000 people by University College London and the University of Sydney, we know poor sleep can lead to heart problems, stroke, cancer and a heightened chance of early death. The study of nearly found those with poor sleep and low exercise combined had a 57-percent greater chance of early death than those who slept well.

But the study also revealed that the equivalent of 150 minutes brisk walking each week (which #walk1000miles easily surpasses) eliminates almost all of the links found between bad sleep and dying prematurely. So if you find yourself waking annoyingly early and can’t drift back off, it might be time for an early morning yomp that could ultimately prolong your life.
